NWR: Need help from LIW teachers!

So here's my story... I went on an interview today in queens and was scheduled for a Demo Lesson this Thursday. The position is in a 3rd grade general education class and my lesson needs to be centred around literacy.

I am planning on doing a lesson involving the elements of a story (plot, setting, characters, theme). Is this appropriate for 3rd grade? I have never experienced a 3rd grade class and would really appreciate any help you ladies have to offer!!

I worked with third grade for four years...that is appropriate as long as you keep it fairly simple...I wouldn't go into the plot arc or anything, but talking about the Who, What, and Where of a story might be good.
