Definitly do a google search, or spend a few hours in Barnes and Noble pouring over their books - I think there is a 'Resumes for Dummies' (Not that you are one!)
One helpful hint I always share: I assist an HR director, and process resumes all day long - he dies a slow death every time we read very general, long winded objective statements - he begs people to make them specific and short! Just a thought...

But, where I work at the Federal Govt. they actually love long winded resumes. It is insane. Thanks!!
