Fh and i booked a trip to Sandals in the Bahamas this weekend. Forecast is rain :( and to change it to a different date is $450. The vacation was already costing us too much but to spend that and have a chance of rain is iffy.
What would you do?

The same thing happened to us when we were going to Barbados. They predicted thundershowers every day we were there. We almost cancelled. When we got there, it did not rain once!! All of the islands get scattered storms every day. But they usually only last a couple of minutes. I would go away anyway.

Keep it...never beleive the forecast...esp on tropical islands...they said rain the entire week I was to be in the Bahamas...yes it rained every day but for a half hour...

Keep your vacation!! These weather forcasters can't predict the weather tomorrow...Plus, we are 'suppose' to get snow, I would rather be in the warm rain then the cold snow

LOL how much are you REALLY going to be outside???
FH and I booked a vacation to Punta Cana DR for the end of June this year. We got a report from our travel agent that there were reports of malaria from tourists in Punta Cana. Malaria is basically incurable and deadly and/or not easily treated - my father had it from WW2 and to this day is not allowed to donate blood because of it. They say the malaria may have been brought by the influx of mosquitos from Hurricane Jeanne and as the weather changes, it could get worse. So basically we changed our vacation and ended up paying about 200-300 more per person, but it put our minds at ease. Do what makes you feel better. If you have a tendency to worry then change it. If not, then go and have a blast!

You cant always go by the forecast...I went on an 8 day Caribbean Cruise during hurricane season and it did not rain a single day!

we had rainy weather for couple days in Jamaica, we still had lots of fun, we went swimming in the rain - plus side there was noone in the pool when we got depressed we just did shots of vodka really you will be fine, usually it rains for only 30-60 minutes and thats all

how disappointed would you be if you changed your date, spent all that extra money on it, and hten it still rained when you got there?? Just go and make the best of it
