Hey, it is FH's b-day next week and I thought I would get him the Nintendo Wii (since he has been talking about it all the time). But I have called a million Best Buy's and Walmart's and no one has it in stock. I know around Christmas it was untouchable but I had no idea that it was still like that.
Anyone know of any places that have it? I am anti-e-bay, so that won't work.
Suggestions, ladies?

If you live/work or plan on going to the city - there is a Nintendo store and they get new shipments of Wii everyday -

I will be of no help to you since I broke down and purchased one for $100 more then the selling price on eBay...
...however I DO feel that it was 110% worth it!!!
But since you are anti-e-bay..... I try calling Target. Many, many Targets. Two of my friends purchased their Wii's there so I think it's worth a shot.

I would keep an eye on things. joystiq.com and engadget.com constantly have posts and stuf about their availability. My FH bought one for me to give to my brother for his b-day like 3 weeks ago at Walmart. You have to catch them when they come in.

CircuitCity.com has a bundle for $400...comes with accessories and games....Toys R Us doesn't have it online but when I did store locator Carle Place/Massapequa/Valley Stream all came up...maybe call those to see if they have any in stock...and that was just for the system itself

surprisingly sears has it (at least down here). try it. they don't get a lot, but then again no one knows they carry it.

If you go to the Nintendo store by rockefeller, you can get it but you have to wait outside at like 8AM. when they open at 9, you can pretty much be guaranteed one. thats what the guy there told us. we went one weekday at like 1pm and they were sold out already. he said you have to be there when it opens.

we bought ours at best buy. we asked the people there when their next shipment was and they'll usually give you a heads up. then all you have to do is go early day of and get your hands on one. except they'll only ship 20-30 at a time, so they go fast.

if you buy just the wii, it's $250 and comes with a controller and numchuck, standard cables, sensor bar, and wii sports. then if you buy wii play you'll get another controller and numchuck for free.

We got ours at Nintendo World in the city, they get a shipment every morning and sell out every day and sometimes they get an afternoon delivery as well. We basically stalked ours, but it was worth it.

I was at costco in farmingdale/melville on rte 110 and they had a set for 350 maybe....it came with an extra controller and zelda i think...there was a bunch of them there.

Honestly...I dont think you are going to be able to find it anywhere....prob. only ebay (which ur against) and it will be a bit pricey.. My bro actually got really lucky and got one the other day for $250 on amazon...the link was posted and in about 8mins it was sold out..he was one of the lucky ones..
