Re: nwr. Oh mannn ... cat and furniture
I got my cat a scratching post. Then I would play with him with the scratching post so he eventually learned, this is where to scratch.

Have you tried clipping her back claws more often?

I put the rubber cats on my cat, they work great and last a long time, and they have colored one so it can look really cute but silly!!

Im sorry but this annoys me... Cats have claws.. Cats scratch things.. It ***** but thats what Cats do... Declawing is such a painful surgery, my vet refuses to even do it. Imagine having all your fingers cut off at the first knuckle and then being forced to walk on it...
As for what you can do, try putting a blanket over the back of the couch (i assume this is the problem area) and clip the cats nails. If the cats real good about it take a nail file to them after. If none of that works train your cat not to go on the couch. Get a spray bottle of water and keep it nearby.. Everytime the cat attempts to jump on the couch spray him without letting him see you. If he thinks this is a random thing that will happen everytime he tries to get on the couch then he will eventually stop. But if he associates it with you then he will only stop when your there.
Scratching posts wont work since its not an act of clawing.. the cat is just accidentally scratching when he walks, runs or jumps on the couch ie being a cat...
Sorry im coming off as super B*tchy.. ive just seen too many cats declawed for bad reasons and then dumped at our rescue when the recovery proves too painful, or the nerves are badly damaged resulting in pain for life. This usually causes the cat to pee outside of litter boxes or turn to biting for defense. The most nasty cats ive ever encountered (besides ferals) were declawed ones.

THEY HAVE A SPRAY THAT YOU PUT ON ANY OBJECT THAT YOU DONT WANT THE CAT ON. I HAVE NEVER USED THIS PRODUCT & IM NOT SURE WHERE THEY EVEN SELL IT, BUT A FRIEND OF MINE USED IT & IT WORKED.
