Okay, so i need to rant about what just happened with my apartment complex.....I came home from work yesterday and there was a public hearing in the clubhouse. Apartently there was a take over of the company that was managing the property so they wanted to tell everyone what was happening. They are turning our apt complex into a RESORT! ***! Basically, there are individual owners that own 1 apt or a whole building. Its up to the owners if they want to stay long term rentals or if they want to go short term. That means that when your lease is out and your owner wants short term your out. Doesnt seem to bad if you just signed your lease and you have 10 months to find a new place to live right?? Well I called 3 weeks ago a bunch of times before this new place took over to talk about what we have to do for our renewal. No one ever got back to me. As it stands right now, our lease is up in 1 1/2 WEEKS! They havent gotten ahold of our owners yet to find out whats going on but we have a 1 br facing the pool....i dont have much hope that they will want to stay long term...Which means we have no place to live. Our lease says they have to give us 60 days notice...if we dont hear from them by tomorrow, we are calling a lawyer....How out of contol is that!!!

UPDATE #1: Went to look at a place that we both fell in love with. its a 2 bedroom and much nicer then where we are now for 90 bucks more a month....So well see. The ppl there told us to call a lawyer tomorrow because we were telling them about things that have happened and they said that we have more then enough already to sue sooooo thats what tomorrow is going to be....
Not to mention my moms flight is delayed by 8 hrs.......NOT HELPING THE SITUATION!

if they have to give you 60 days notice and they havent then you have all rights to stay in the apartment. Pay your rent 'without prejudice' and look for a new place., you dont want that added stress!

Yea we are looking right now...found a place we like a lot but we are still looking. We have to wait to see what they say about going short term but we dont want to stay now if this is how things are going to be! its redic!!

So....FH and I finally found a new place. We got a 2 bedroom 1 bath apt thats litterally 5 miles behind the Magic Kingdom so its super close to work for us for only $90 more a month. We are on the 3rd floor, that stinks but what can you do, we were kinda short on notice. I love it and Im so glad to have 1,100 sqft instead of 750! We move in on Sept 11...kinda a crappy day to have to move but, again, what can ya do? Just so happy that we dont have to worry about leases this time next year with the wedding and everything :) YEY
That really stinks! But I'm glad you found a new place - it looks beautiful!

Your new place looks beautiful!!! I love those complexs in Florida. I almost moved to Florida about 7 years ago and took a look at those complexs there...well congrats on finding a place!!!!
