NWR- opinions on a work related issue

am i wrong? or mean? sorry so long.
so i moved into a new office so i just bought a mini fridge since we didnt have one like in the old office. my staff person, whose office is next to mine has the key to my office and has been stashing her lunch in the fridge without asking me in the first place. friday she left old fruit in there and she was out of the office mon and tues so i threw it out. its a brand new fridge and i'd like to keep i that way! so today i told her i want my key back (because i dont want her having a key since i have personnell docs in my office) and she got upset and asked what about the fridge? i said u use my fridge without asking, you know, playing dumb. and she said yes sorry. so i said oh so that was you who left the old fruit? i threw it out. i dont want u using my fridge if ur going to mess it up.
she can continue using the other girl's fridge like she's been doing. or go downstairs to the kitchen, lazy. or BUY YOUR OWN.
she gave me 500 other reasons why she needs the key. i told her no. so she told me i was treating her like a second class citizen. w t f?????????

o wow thats nuts. does she know your schedule?

you can try to be nice by saying she can use your fridhe when you are in the office. but because of personnel docs, you really cant give her key. and you are sorry that there was a confusion in the first place.....

oh I'm so jumping in here. Coworkers are CLUELESS and have no idea how to act sometimes!

Def don't give her a key. That's YOUR fridge. You bought it. Let her buy her own.

I would just let her use the fridge, but she should've just ASKED first rather than taking it upon herself!

ITA with this. If you truly don't mind her sharing (I would, she sounds annoying!), specify that it is ONLY when you are in the office.

It was rude of her to stash her lunch without asking and even ruder that she's trying to make excuses on why she needs a key to YOUR office.

lol, how about you offer to let her use your fridge if she goes and purchases a microwave.

Then If she continues to leave old fruit in your fridge, go nuke it and leave it in her microwave. Or heat up some seriously rank lunches.
