Im looking to throw my sis a surprise party for her 30th bday. Does anyone have any suggestions in NYC or western nassau for a place where we can include a private room, cockatils, and buffet-style food?? Thanks

I had my fiance's 30th b-day at Monihan's in Bayside. The price was great, they have a private room upstairs, the food was buffet style and they have a bar upstairs too (which was good b/c I just did beer, wine & soda, so any hard liquor could be purchased without going downstairs to the main bar). HTH!

yea what was good about it was that downstairs on Fridays & Saturdays a DJ starts around 10PM, so we kind of had our own 'after party' lol. Or there's Lucky's (formerly Crazy Moose) around the corner too.

Great place- private parties and one at a time in Port Washington. H on the Harbor. They do anything you like- buffet or continuous cocktail party. Reasonably priced and awesome food and atmosphere. I was there for an Engagement Party but I know they do EVERYTHING!
We just had a client party at the Water Club on the East River in their private room upstairs. It was absolutely gorgeous and the food (served buffet sytle along with waiter service for passed apps) was AMAZING. The view is beautiful and it even has an outside deck area off of the room with tables so people could sit outside and enjoy the view. Highly recommended!!

Did you look into a place like Patty Mc Gees in Island Park?
Went for a brunch there once & was buffet style... great food!
My shower was at the Broadway Beanery in Lynbrook, wasNOT buffet, but the food, service, atmosphere was amazing!
