Does anyone know of any good kennels for dogs? I'm not a fan of crates. We kept her at this one place in lindenhurst that was perfect, but the guy didn't seem to like her b/c she barked for attention when she saw him. which pissed me off b/c she's a dog, dogs bark. We're going to Vegas for FH's brothers wedding for 4 nights (5 days) the end of sept. and i have no idea what to do with her.
Any suggestions?

Re: NWR - Pet Sitting
I am going to be looking for a place soon too. I have a place in East Northport that is owned by my vets, but I wasn't 100% thrilled with the main kennel keeper's attitude. He seemed to act like, 'Hey, it's a dog, they are used to kennels, they are put in them all the time, she'll be fine.' Well, not MY dog. It was her first time and he made me feel a little like an very overprotective mom for asking if I can bring a toy of hers :)
ANYHOW, aside from that, the place was good ... so FM me if you want details. Cheap, too - $20 to $25 a night depending on what kind of 'room' you got.

Our vet in west islip (higbie and sunrise) has a place next door to him. The vets name is DR. Herbold. We laways leave our pets there.

I *so* wanted to take my dog there but they do not take any of the 'bully breeds' as far as I can remember. :( And yes, it was a little pricey... I think like $40 a night?

bully breeds?? oh lord..that's so silly..!! Biscuits and bath in NYC where i adopted my first dog from does dog daycare and boarding i think..and they are like a mini dog hotel... there are a lot that really pamper your pooch.. regardless of breed in the city. There are a few in Williamsburg by me too where the dogs sleep in beds at night.. The neighborhood has become very dog friendly!!! But i'm not really farmiliar with many out in LI!!

My dogs' vet does it and they are wonderful there.. I think they are called Southside Animal Hospital. They are on Montauk Highway in Copiague I think....(it's been awhile).
But - they really care about animals there...when my dog passed - they called to see how we were a few days later...

I work for a vet and one of our clients does it in her house. That is what she does for a living. FM me if you would like her number. She is in the Malverne/Lynbrook area.
