This would be a great gift and very useful!! This was done for me when I was going away for school! You can actually put everything in a large laundry basket which she will definaetly need! Other items to consider:

laundry detergent, hangers, hot pot, shower caddy,alarm clock, iron, small dry erase board( for dorm door), stationary set (to write home to ask for $) etc...Good luck!
