heyy ladies...thanks so much!! i know i have a lot of different options there...i put melting pot on there bc it is his fav resturant...if i was to go this route i would cut down the list...300 bec he loves bowling..i put halls on there bec thats more of a party atmosphere and then i woulddo the CP's and dj..i just want to explore all the options and see what is out there and what they are offering me...thanks for all the help ladies...xoy

yeah its hard at first, but go with what you think he would like best. Would he want a catering hall type place that is alot more formal or laid back. One thing i realized at first is that i really did not want a catering hall, i didnt want this formal sit down thing for his 30th, i wanted more of a still young bc we still like to go out lol and so do our friends. Originally i wanted to do a suite or penthouse in a hotel and rent casino tables, hire belly dancers, burlesque dancers and have more of a party atmosphere, i know with Rh's it can be a party too lol but this would be different, and i didnt want anything that ended early either. Hotels had a problem with so many ppl and if i did a party i had to cater it through them and again i didnt want this formal thing, i wanted a fun party so i got annoyed with that plus they wanted to charge me $70 per person per hour which wouldve ended up being $200 per person towards end of night and just for 4 hors dourves which is retarded. I found a place in the city where i was able to rent out the whole top floor for a private party. The atmosphere was cool, it was a bordello style place, red velvet couches, black ottomans, even some leopard stuff, the lighting was mostly red and red walls, the room even had a stripper pole lol. But I LOVED the room we had, it was perfect and exactly what i wanted, it was like a lounge we had to ourselves with DJ, a bartender of our own and all that. I still hired burlesque dancers and had them perform. It was mostly friends and only family that came were his parents and parents best friends that are like family to dh and they a bit before midnight and we all partied until about 3am-3:30am. I didnt want this big family thing just friends partying.

But once i narrowed down to what i wanted it was easier. I mostly checked out hotels in the city, lofts in the city and some clubs and lounges but only those where i was able to rent private space.

Would he prefer a bowling place, laid back restaurant or catering hall? i would go with whatever fits his personality and interest most

lol good luck, i think once you sit down and think about how you want the outcome of the party it will all come to you. See Dh wouldve been happy with a catering hall too not like he would've been disappointed but i knew this was more his personality. All places gave me quotes over the phone or email but i know catering halls are a bit different with giving out prices over the phone or email and not all do it. Definitely check out the places too if you never have been there. There was one hotel that had a 2 floor penthouse, it looked amazing in the pics, it was all black/white decor with this very modern and gothic style to it, i LOVED it when i saw it and the pics of their penthouse looked amazing. Now when i went i do have to say the decor was amazing and looked great but i felt the space was small, even with 2 floors, i never seen a hotel suite or penthouse that was that small. I almost just booked it over the phone since they were the only hotel allowing a party, but last minute i said i'd check it out first which im so happy I did.

If you want to do a sports themed party, not sure if you're interested but ESPN zone has rooms to throw a party, even yankees stadium has party rooms believe it or not and so does MSG they have private party rooms too.

now that is another amazing idea...do you know off hand if they do catering at yankee stadium or do you have to bring in?? hmmmmmm maybe i could do something at giants stadium...ohdear the ideas are endless...thanks for your help...im goingg to get started on researching these new ideas....
