NWR - PLEASE VOTE FOR MY NON PROFIT
I am asking for the power of all LIW girls to come together and help the non profit I work for (a domestic violence agency) win a much needed grant from Pepsi. It's easy - it's FREE - all you have to do is spread the word and vote EVERYDAY in the month of august.

Pepsi is giving away $1,300,000 each month to fund great ideas and support non-profit projects. The Retreat, has recently made it into the month long voting process for a project which will provide our residential clients healthy meals and lifestyle support.
Here is an overview of the project that would get funded:
The women and children at our shelter arrive emotionally & nutritionally depleted, lacking the energy and spirit to rebuild their lives. An investment of $50,000 will enable the Retreat to immediately and expeditiously provide nutritionally balanced and culturally appropriate meals as well as to create a safe, protected outdoor play area. Since many of our residents are on fixed incomes, affording nutritious food is a major barrier to good health. Utilizing funds from this initiative will allow us to: 1) Expose our residents to foods that contain more nutritional value; 2) Change the food intake habits of both the women and children in our residence; 3) Offer individual/group level educational interventions that focus on: nutrition and food preparation and the benefits of physical activities; 4) Allow the shelter residents a safe outdoor facility that promotes play and exercise; 5) Improve long term health outcomes of our women and children.
