The steroid. Any of you ever have to take it?? I had a rash breakout of some sort on saterday, went to the er, and this is what they gave me. I'm only on it for five days, do you think that this is ok?? (I'm very paranoid about medication).

I was on a steriod last year for swelling of my nasal passages...i was on for a week...not to worry you will be ok! Its not the kind of steriod that you are thinking of!

Im a nurse, they probably gave you a tapered dose...It's fine to take just dont recieve the flu vaccine or any other while your on the prednisone and of course finish the medication as ordered...I had to get a prednisone injection (IN MY BUTT!!!), sad im a nurse and am always giving injections but im a baby when it comes to recieving them! Anyway it totally cleared up my alleric reaction!

Thank you ladies!! I am only taking 20 miligrams...that's a small dosage, correct?? (Can you tell I'm a freaky paranoid monster)..lol
Poor FH.. the past two nights i've literally been popping out of bed at 3 am wide awake, ready to do laundry!! I'm also very cold..is this normal?

Prednisone could give you trouble sleeping but i wouldnt stress about it your only on it for five days....It might just be nerves....

my dog is on prednisone.. OFTEN... for a skin condition..... I know that it has different effects in dogs than in people,,,obvioiusly.. but my grandfather used to take it often for asthma-related problems.....don't worry too much!

i was on that for headaches for 5 days. i was fine on it. feel better! icky rashes

Awww, honey, you have my sympathy!!! I take 100 mg a day for 4 days after each cycle of chemo.....I've been up nights almost in tears because I just want to sleep!!!!
And I hear ya about being cold. I have TWO down comforters on my bed and about 4 extra blankets and I'm still curled up in a little ball trying to keep warm.
On the bright side...you're almost done. So, hang in there!

I took it for my kidneys. After I got the rash they told me i had lupus... which was misdiagnosed. Be careful. I had gained about40 lbs from it... so dont stay on it too long!
