Hi all... looking to do something fun with my DH this weekend or next and we want to carve pumpkins...i've never been to a haunted hayride -- are they fun or for little kids? I know you girls know LI inside and out and all the hidden treasures so I figure you're the best resource for a pumpkin farm that's not too far out east :)

Re: NWR: pumpkin farms/haunted hayrides?
Hi I just went pumpkin picking a couple of weeks ago...travel down sound ave or 25a or 25...
This is one of my favorites: Harbes Family Farms, three locations: Route 48 (247 Sound Ave.), Mattituck, (631) 298-2054; Route 25 (Main Rd.), Jamesport, (631) 722-8546; and Route 25 (Main Rd.), Cutchogue, (631) 734-7703

I go to Helen's on Rt 105. Kinda far but SOOOOOOOOOOO worth it! She has hayrides, not scary ones, but she does have a scary corn maze and roasted fresh corn and real candy apples!!
