NWR: Puppies!

DH and I are looking to get a puppy. Anyone have any suggestions on a good place to purchase or adopt? We are open to both!

Thanks!

My friend is fostering a mom and her puppies for almost home animal rescue. Mom is a Shepard mix and it looks like dad is a husky. They are adorable. Www.almosthomeli.org is the site

Re: NWR: Puppies!

I volunteer at North Shore Animal League, depending on what kind of dog you are looking for I would try there or petfinder.com
FM me if you want more information. I have been doing rescue work for a long time.

Re: NWR: Puppies!

I have heard North Shore Animal League is a great place to adopt from. I bought both my puppies (now 8 & 6.. but I still call them puppies) from Selmer's in Huntington.

Re: NWR: Puppies!

Last year we adopted our puppy from North Shore. We are so happy with her and they have a really good adoption process. The only thing i dont like about them is that when i was supposed to bring her back there for her check up, it was practically impossible to get intouch with them. I wound up having to bring her to my personal vet. That is my only complaint.. otherwise they are great!
