actual conversation from before we were engaged:
fw: don't get me a ring me: huh? fw: i'm serious me: but baby... fw: seriously. no ring me: uh.. fw: i'd rather you get me a crackerjack decoder ring and take me to jazzfest than get me a ring. me: but what if I find a good one that's pretty and ethical? fw: if you get me one, i guess I'd wear it. but I'd much rather go to jazzfest.
(note: i gave her my grandma's ring. haven't taken her to jazzfest yet, but will soon)
