Re: NWR question...
We just went through all this. Well, after you put in an offer, the sellers will either accept it, reject it, or counter it. If they accept it...then you have to get an engineer in there ASAP because just because they accepted it doesnt mean that the house is yours. At this point its really whoever gets into contract first. So after the engineers report, then their lawyer will send your lawyer the contracts which you must go and sign (and give a check). You will not be in contract until the contracts are back in their lawyers hand and signed by the seller. HTH

Re: NWR question...
It's a new construction home...we agreed on a price with the builder. The builders son-in-law is the realtor who called us tonight and asked us to meet with him tomorrow night so we can put the bid on the house, I guess after that like you said we'll go into contract.
Cool, thanks and good luck with your new house!

Re: NWR question...
congratulatiosn... FH and I just closed on our house two weeks ago, I'm moving in this weekend...
We live in NJ, so I'm not sure if it's any different in NY
We put the bid in, sellers countered, we accepted. After that, the contract went into Attorney Review for three days. (this is where either party can back out if they want). Once Attorney Review was over, we had 10 days to get an engineer to inspect the house.
From start to finish it was 8 weeks until we closed.

Re: NWR question...
Congrats! Definitely get the house inspected and have their attorney fax the contracts over to your attorney for him/her to review. I have a great inspector if you need one.
