How much do you tip your mailman and sanitation guys?
This is my first year in this house and I want to make sure I get this stuff right. DH doesn't remember what he tipped the 1st year just that he did. Last year he thinks he forgot to tip them which is his explanation for why our garbage men are jerks.
How much if you tip? Or don't you?
Thanks

I just have no idea...$20 each? $100 each? Somewhere inbetween?
DH is NO help. He just keeps saying he doesn't remember. Which I believe, btw.
I think our sanitation men come around 6 or 7 because I've seen them in the light.

Since there are a few Sanitation workers are you doing one tip or a tip for each person?

I'm thinking I'm going to do one for each??? IDK I don't like the sanitation guys they are jerks IMO but DH claims it's because he forgot to tip them last year and they weren't 'that bad' before. I want to give them a good tip so that they stop hurling garbage pails into our cars, on our lawn and not taking all of our garbage . If they still stink after this then I'm not tipping them next year.

Looking at what Gina said on the NW board I may do like $10 per person but how do you give it to them? lolol

I'll probably do a little more than that but not $100 like I thought originally! In my case, I work from home so I'll just make sure that after DH leaves on Thursday or Monday morning I'm in the living room one day so that I can run out when see them.
I wouldn't tape it to a pail or anything, it will get thrown away!

Re: NWR Question for the homeowners
We have had an insane amount of garbage since we moved in so I think we're going to do like $40 each. They come by us at like 730 am so I will just go out there and hand it to them. We never have the same mailman and I hate him right now bc for some reason he is not delivering any packages to our house so nothing for him!!!

Re: NWR Question for the homeowners
I never considered tipping. I guess I will just give a little money in an envelope to each.

Re: NWR Question for the homeowners
We usually do about 15 each and it's always interesting getting it to the garbage men. Last year it resulted in me running after the truck but they seemed very appreciative. The mailman we gave 20 to and also handed it to him. HTH!
