NWR - Question Regarding Cysts

Hi, so I just got back from doing an echo of my boobs and apparently I have cysts. Obviously the tech couldn´t tell me much. I just saw on the screen taht there were dark spots and hounded her about them. It turns out on the right side I have one large one and two or three small ones and on the left side I have a few small ones. I was able to get a GYN appt for Monday night but I feel like I need to tell someone.

I can´t tell FH because he was at the place with me (he had to get a Xray) and while we were waiting there was a woman who looked like she had cancer and wasn´t doing too well. At the same time the news started showing a piece of children with cancer. His dad was diagnosed with cancer and died within a couple of months. (Christimas Day!! 2006) and seeing that stuff gets him down. He always assumed the worse with medical things so I know if I tell him he´ll automatically be worried. I figured I´ll wait to talk to my gyn on monday and then tell him.

My question is has anyone had this? Do they have to cut you open to do a biopsy or something? I think I heard of something being done with a needle but I´m actually very ignorant in this area!! I´m a little worried because my grandmother had breast cancer but I´m remaining positive because she is now fine with no recurrences years later!!! and my mother had cysts that turned out to be nothing.

i was debating telling my mom but she´s a little stressed right now because we just found out my sister is pregnant and won´t be able to come to the wedding because she is due the same week!! She lives in Florida and my mom has to be there for her but obviously for my wedding too. I´d rather not put more on her plate right now.

I realize this is becoming long (as many of my posts do - sorry!!) so I will stop now. Any info you have about this would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of searching online but I may end up stressing myself out more that way.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with what your experiencing but I just wanted to say, Stay Strong and Positive and everything will be fine! It sounds like it may run in your family and it's probably nothing. Be careful holding things in like this... it's healthy to share with the ones you love... Stay positive hun.

Thanks guys. I´m sure it will work out ok. I emailed my sister. She studied nursing (ended up changing her mind towards the end but at least has a general idea) and doesn´t freak out as much as others. She said many times they just go in with a needle and take out the cyst that way. Hopefully this is what they´ll do. I have to pick up the results today and whenever we do we always open them up. I´ll prob just tell fh tonight.

I have had 3 needle core biopsies in the last 4 years and have cyst that they are leaving because it is so tiny. I happen to be a lumpy person but they always remove and test to be safe. If the cyst is small the radiologist will remove by a needle biopsy using a sonogram. It a a small incision 1/4 of inch that they put a bandaid over after. You have to put an ice pack on it and no running or jumping for a fews day. Did the radiologist speak to you? If you want FM me I go through this every year.
