NWR: Random Question

NWR: Random Question

Totally not wedding related.

FH's daughter is given spelling words each week. She has to write sentences for each word and then pick one sentence to illustrate.

Sometimes she colors the pic...sometimes she doesnt. There has never been a comment.

However, this week she marked the HW incomplete b/c it wasnt colored. Does 'illustrate' imply it must be colored?

Re: NWR: Random Question

illustrate means to draw a picture.

just me but when i tell my kids to draw a picture for HW i always tell them to color it in. but i mean, of a level appropriate for whatever age it is?

doesn't need to look like a disney animator did it

Re: NWR: Random Question

i have helped my niece & nephew with homework a million times, at least. & they are constantly coloring pictures in.

i just don't get it. my nephew is in 3rd grade, why on earth is he still coloring pictures i have no idea. my niece on the other hand is in kindergarten so i can understand coloring the pictures.

but to me illustrate means 'draw' not color.

Thanks, girls! If she wanted it colored, I dont understand why she has never mentioned that in the past.

I'm honesty just sick of her. In the last month she has either called me or sent a note home, asking if FH's daughter is telling the truth about something. I am very close to calling a meeting to determine why she thinks my child is a liar!

And now the hw...just seems like she has something against her. who knows!
