NWR - rant about my apartment complex

FH and I live in the Atlantic Point apartments in Bellport. Really nice apartment, really nice place - until recently when the teenagers living here started messing around. Today is the second time that we've gotten a letter on our door saying that the management 'is doing everything possible to fix this situation.' About a month or so ago, kids were breaking into people's cars. Recently, they started blowing up these water bottles filled with some kind of mixed chemical - on the playground!! And the best part: One of our neighbors told FH yesterday that someone was using his grill! He noticed that the cover was off, the lid was open, and he actually found a piece of meat stuck to the grill!!!! FH was telling me the other day that he thought someone was playing around by our patio because the chairs have been messed up a few times and our door mat was flipped over. And now all of a sudden, our door is broken and you have to pull it really hard to get it open.

We really like living here, but how pathetic is it that now we have to watch out for our things because of teenagers?!

I live in a complex too but have never had problems like that....more like trashy neighbors Thats why I like living on a second floor--no one can get to me.

But seriously, that is annoying, rude and needs to be dealt with pronto. You are paying a pretty penny and want to feel comfortable and secure...Those brats need to go!!!!!!!

FH and I live there too! We actually just moved in in March but we submitted our 60 day notice to break the lease because of all of the stuff going on there lately.

It's a shame because it's a beautiful complex and the apartments are really nice but FH works really long hours and I'm home alone alot and he doesn't feel like I'm safe with the crazy things going on there.

I hope everything gets better! Good luck!

OMG I can't believe that is happening and there is no control. I would call the police if management isn't doing anything. If that doesn't work, go to a higher source- write a letter to the person who owns the complex or even the town- I am not sure how they operate out there but something has to be done. I swear- these kids today are horrible.

Re: NWR - rant about my apartment complex

The letter we got today said that if we see anything, we're supposed to call 911 and then this hotline number that will alert the night security guards. And supposedly if anyone is caught, they'll be evicted and maybe legal action will be taken.

If we had someplace else to go, I would definitely consider breaking our lease because it's just not worth it. We're paying a ridiculous amount of money to be here, and to not feel safe in your own home is wrong on so many levels. FH's parents are moving out of state next month, so we can't go there, and my parents house isn't built for us to all live there together and have our own privacy. I don't know what we're supposed to do about this, other than hope it gets better.

Def be proactive in calling the police when need be. That way something will be done. Don't run and hide from your own home and go someplace else- it will get better if everyone in your development participates in bringing these idiots down!
