NWR -- recommend a laptop for DH *update below*

DH wants to get a laptop -- for music programs, maybe some games, not too expensive

any brands to stay away from? i love my dell desktop but ive heard their laptops have a lot of problems. i have an IBM for law school but they are pretty expensive

what about toshiba?

this one looks ok but i dont really know all that much about what i should be looking for and whats a good price

any suggestions? hoping for some labor day weekend sales

I just got a MacBook yesterday, and I am in LOVE with it

For music and games I would do a MacBook. For anything else definately a Lonovo (they bought over IBM hardware).

macbook minor adjustment from a PC but it was worth it!!!

DH didnt want a mac, and they are pretty expensive too

we went to best buy and looked at the toshiba which was ok, but i didnt like the feel of the keys or the touchpad and a compaq caught my eye instead. it was the same specs except it had a 17' HD screen instead of 15.4' regular and i liked the keys/touchpad better. same price.

however, they were completely sold out and werent getting any more in since it was a back to school special... and they wouldnt even discount the floor model because its a better deal for them to return it to the manufacturer than to sell it for any less!

we were disappointed so we left and checked circuit city, but they didnt have it either, but i called best buy customer service and they tracked down one at a warehouse in TX -- they are shipping it to us free! we're excited, it looked really nice and the screen was sooooooo clear

thanks for the suggestions though, my law school study buddy loves his new macbook
