NWR: red skin tab on a dog UPDATE

i have a 2 year old yorkie and about a week and a half ago i noticed a red skin tab looking thing on his right front leg. i monitored it since then and it's appeared to have stayed the same. last night i saw what looked like another one was forming on the same leg. FH is taking him to the vet at 12 today and i'm really worried. has anyone else experience this with their dog?

Update:

FH just left the vets office. the vet said cause he's young it's probably nothing but we should remove it. FH left him there and will be picking him up at 3. they're going to send the growth to the lab and in about a week we will have a result.

I don' t know i am sorry I never noticed anything like that on my dogs but I hope everything is ok! Keep us informed

My mom's Yorkie has this. The vet gave them a medicated shampoo and I think antibiotics. It went away for a little but then they started coming back. FH thinks its b/c they bathe him too much.

eta...the vet never said how he got them

I have a toy poodle, and he had a little skin tag on his back when we got him from my grandmother - he had recently gotten on of those ID implants, so I thought it was just scar tissue. When we were at the vet for his well visit recently I asked about it and the vet said it was a wart - she said as long as it didnt get worse/infected/larger we could leave it, but they can spread so she said we should just watch it....HTH

thanks ladies!

i don't think it's from bathing him cause we don't give him frequent baths. it's not really good for their skin.

i hoping it's just allergies and that the vet can make it go away. it doesnt bother him, he doesnt try to scratch or bite it. he lets me touch it so i know it doesnt hurt. i'm just worried that it looks like he's getting another one. i'll update as soon as FH calls me from the vets office.
