has anyone ever rented with an option to buy? Pros? Cons?

well I moved into my house and paid rent before I went to contract. that's not the same but its a good idea.

it depends what it is...if its something like from rent-a-center, like a TV/furniture. i think it better to get one of the store credit cards and pay it off over a year. it probably comes out to a similar price and at least you know the stuff is BRAND NEW!
if its a house...then thats another story, and it might make more sense
i think it really comes down to doing the math and how long you plan on owning

i think its a great idea, esp if al lthat rent you pay goes towards a down payment. i havent really started looking, but there are places out there.

We did it its a great idea you get to check thing out first its like living together before you get married.

I always thought that you HAD to purchase the apartment when doing this? If not, I think it's a great thing to do.

We are looking to do this now. We dont have a large amount to put down right now so we figured this would help us out
