nwr: restaurant rave!
so last night i took FH out for his bday. since it was a surprise, and his family was planning on seeing him. i invited them along (FMIL, FFIL and FBIL).
I made reservations at riverview in LIC. they are participating in queens restaurant week (yay!). So i called to change the reservation from 2 ppl to 5 ppl and push back the time cuz FH was late at work. no problem. i also told them that when its time for dessert to put a candle in it. they said no problem.
so we get there, valet park, and go in. the place is really cute and hot looking. its right by the water (well, across the street), so you have a view on the manhattan skyline.
we checked out the restaurant week menu and compared it to the regular menu. WOW. this was the most EXTENSIVE restaurant week menu i've ever seen. it was like the WHOLE menu you could pick...not just 2 or 3 choices. it was great!
everyone loved what they got. and the service was really awesome.
so after dinner, what do i see? but not the desserts that come with the prixe fixe, but an actual CAKE with a bunch of candles in it all lit up!!! so we sing happy bday to FH.
now, i was surprised about the cake, so i thought maybe it was substitution for all the desserts. but no! and the waiter (sam) was sooo not pushy. he actually suggested that we take the cake HOME, since we still get desserts with the prixe fixe. so that is what we did.
the desserts (tiramasu and cheesecake) were sooooo delish too. omg omg omg. (and i am picky abotu good tiramasu, but this place was yummmmy).
then on the way out, the waiter gives me the box of candles in case i needed more when i got home. i wanted to hug him! lol
it was such a great nice. and i would definately recommend it!!!
i think tonight is the last night of the restaurant week special, but if you dont have plans, i would highly recommend going!
(p.s. they also do showers and private parties, but the prices are um, eh, a bit higher....)
