Hi! I'm meeting an old friend / ex-co worker for dinner tonight and we are looking for a place in the midtown west, Chelsea, West Village area for dinner. An open front would be nice, not too pricey or trendy. Good food. Any suggestions?

Il Bastardo in Chelsea - on 7th ave. b/w 21st and 22nd. Food is really good and not expensive.
La Palapa in the West Village - 6th and W4th.

Agave (7th between charles and west 10th) or Barbuto (Jane and Washington) both have great outdoor-ish seating.
