NWR: RESUME!

I just finished making my very first resume for a potential assistant psychologist position! I'm so proud of myself for finally making one!! I just graduated with a BA in psychology so I would love to obtain this job! sooo happy and i feel so accomplished right now!

just wanted to share it

My FH is in Human Resources and I run a department at a local college. So, we both see resumes all the time. The best advice I can give is this:

1) Don't put it on fancy paper. Nothing pink or scented (Legally Blonde).

2) Don't make it more than one page. Unless its a CV for an academic position, no one will read past the first page.

3) Put your Experience or Education toward the top, whichever think showcases you better. For example, a student didn't have a college degree but ran his own company. So, I told him to put experience first.

4) Do highlight your best features. If you graduated with honor, if you were on scholarship, if you had any awards in school ADD them.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you!

thanks everyone! i actually did follow a format from a human resources resume online...it's all on one page, and i defintely put my education and awards on the resume! i graduated with a 3.89 so you know that's down!

thanks girls

Thats super exciting!! Good luck with it!!
