NWR: Ring & Gloves

NWR: Ring & Gloves

Am I the only one having a hard time wearing gloves with my engagement ring?

This is my first winter being engaged and I have tight leather gloves that force my ring to move to the side and scrape it into my other finger. Plus, I'm worried that I'm scuffing the diamond.

YES!!!! I haven't worn my leather gloves at all this year! I went out & bough mittens & also fleece gloves. The first time it got cold, I was so upset bc I couldn't wear my favorite leather gloves! My ring would slip to the side & then it would be uncomfortable. My mom told me, that you are suppose to turn your ring to face the palm of your hand, so that when you pull your gloves off, it doesn't get snagged on the diamond....The problem is, when I drive, I can't do that!

I also have trouble, Cindy. I feel like my e-ring is creating a mark on my skin. I haven't started taking it off yet because I am too paranoid I will lose it. I just suffer!

Yes Yes Yes!!!!!

I pump gas like every morning and I freak out. And then when I have to dig myself out of a spot, I take it off and throw it in my bag.

But the gloves have been a killer!

I feel like an old pro at this one - but after getting poked by it last winter, I opted for larger leather gloves (just a 1/2 size larger than normal). When I put them on, my ring usually slides, but once I fix it, I'm good to go.

YES!!!! I haven't been able to wear a pair of gloves comfortable since I got engaged... I tried turning my ring under but its uncomfortable when you drive...If I don't it scrapes my other finger bc it turns...I guess I need to invest in a pair of mittens...

Thank you ladies! I thought I was the only one.

I just started wearing these fleece gloves I got for Christmas and it seems to be a lot better because they are a bit larger. But I miss my pretty leather gloves. :)

Hi Cindy!

Yes, I had the same problem! But my leather gloves have since stretched out a bit, so it fits ALOT better!

What freak me out is when I wash my hands at work. I will NOT take it off (God forbid I forget to put it back on or something), but I am also TERRIFIED of the ring coming off and going down the drain!!!

Don't worry, you are definitely NOT going to scratch the diamond with a leather glove! Diamond is the hardest mineral on earth. The only other thing that can scratch it is another diamond!!

I wear knitted gloves too but then I realized that the corner of my diamond pops through the knitted holes. Shheeesh.

Michele, I'm terrified about dropping my ring down a drain too. Especially since my ring is very loose on my fingers in the off-summer months. Basically, I'm just terified about EVERYTHING!

good idea with the mittens, I will have to try that one. I usually turn my ring to my palm but it is uncomfortable

Re: NWR: Ring & Gloves

when i still lived in ny i used mittens or turned my ring facing my palm. that usually helped.
