NWR - Romantic restaurants in Brooklyn

Hi-
I will be moving to Carroll Gardens on the 17th so FI and I decided to have our Christmas dinner celebration in Brooklyn this year. Can anyone recommend some nice-romantic places near Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill or Carroll Gardens?
Thanks!

Nino's. In cobble hill. They have a really nice room upstairs, and the food is GREAT! I went to a christening there 6 months ago.

DO NOT GO TO MARCO POLO. I was very disapointed with the food there.

I'm not sure of a good romantic place in those neightborhoods. However, a great resource is www.go-brooklyn.com They have a dining section broken down by area.

OMG...go anywhere on Smith Street or Court STreet - there's a MILLION places to choose from.

Personally, I do'nt think Nino's is romantic...it's kinda loud. As far as Giando's - really sketch area.

The River Cafe in Brooklyn Heights.

Best service I have ever gotten in a restaurant and wonderfully delicious!

The River Cafe is beautiful but if you are also looking for a real belly full it is kind of iffy it is more about the ambiance and it is quite romantic.

I live in Caroll Gardens, and as someone said there are tons of great places on both Court and Smith Streets. Most restaurants in the area however are not to romantic since they are all very small and all the tables are close together. However for a fabulous meal go to The Grocery on smith street it was a #1 rated restaurant for awhile and if you can get the window seat it is more private.

I love River Cafe. I have been tons of times - most recently for my birthday

The view

I found the items I picked very filling. For the appetizer I had 'Bee Gee' shrimp. Jumbo shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and this excellent cream based sauce that was almost like hollandaise but way better. I forgot to take a picture of it so we'll have to go there again. LOL

The brooklyn bridge in chocolate --- yummy

i've heard mixed reviews for River Cafe but somehow consistently good in ratings. it's def a romantic restarant nonetheless. the view is magnificent especially with a bird's eye view of the brooklyn bridge. if you and your FI decide on River Cafe, book quick! for hte occasion it's quite understandable.

enjoy the holidays!
