Tomorrow is my colonoscopy. I'm freaking out. I just drank my first dose of this horrible saline drink. It's so gross, I nearly gagged twice.
If you've ever had to have one, please FM me and tell me I'm going to be OK.
So scared. I can't even get a blood test w/out passing out.

you are going to be FINE - you will go nitey night and it will all be over before you know it. The prep is the worst part....and after the test - you still may go...so prepare to stay home....

i know someone who JUST had it done and she said the preparation is the horrible part, that liquid thing you have to drink and the whole not eating part. She said the actual colonoscopy isn't bad so don't worry

no - she has the two doses of phosfo soda....no enema required anymore - thank GOD....

no - she has the two doses of phosfo soda....no enema required anymore - thank GOD....
ahhh. I didn't have to do the enema either. gag. dry heave. I feel her pain, the prep is miserable.

I've had 2 colonoscopies... trust me, the prep is the worst part. I had the fleet phosopho-whatever. Not gonna lie, it's pretty gross. I mixed it with juice I liked and after that I lost my taste for it.
If I had to do it over, I'd take a shotglass, fill it maybe 1/2 way with fleet and take it with a strong chaser. then repeat. You aren't really going to mask the taste of it so the quicker the better, get it over with as fast as you can.
The good news is that once you are done with the prep, the rest is smooth sailing. The colonoscopy itself isn't bad at all and you arent in any pain afterwards.

I've had one...and you will be fine! seriously...ur gonna be out so you won't even know anything happened. you may get nauseous and throw up from the saline drink...I know I did. and be prepared to run to the bathroom all night long. But the actual procedure is the easy part...the nausea is prolly the worst u'll deal with and many people don't even experience nausea.

09er crashing...saw your post and had to respond...
So My FH Crohns disease and I have IBS so we are no strangers to colonoscopies. I just had one this summer and I learned a few very important lessons...
1. Use baby wipes...right from the start...I didnt and i was MISERABLE... 2. Make sure you drink lots of liquids that have sugar in them. I didnt and I passed out in the middle of the night in the bathroom...not a fun time!
Hang in there...the actual procedure is so quick and you take a nice nap. Good luck tomorrow and I hope you don't mind my responding ladies!

oh yeah...and make sure you have lots of food at home when u get back...when you finish being groggy ur gonna feel like u could eat a horse. I ate half a pizza pie!!!

Don't be worried... my mom had one this year... she said it was the best sleep she's ever had.
