NWR: Scars (How to lighten)

Hey girls, I need your help! I had surgery in December 2008 to remove a cyst in my wrist. I was using Mederma for months and it didn't do much (maybe lighten it a tad but not a noticeable difference). I don't mind the scar because it's an inch long and falls in the crease of my wrist when I bend; however, it is on my left hand which makes it fall into pictures of my ring. Is there anything I can do or use that have worked for you or someone you know? Any suggestions would be appreciated!! TIA!

vitamin E- you can just buy the pills and crack them up. I used it on some scars I had and it helped (not a miracle cure, definitely takes time)

If you are getting airbrush makeup on your day, ask your makeup artist to also airbrush the scar on your wrist. Airbrushing covers a ton of stuff

I just had a cyst removed on my face and my plastic surgeon suggested scar guard. He feels it is the only over the counter cream that is effective.

def vitamin E gel caps. as long as it is consistently used on a daily basis it will work.

your photographer can fix those shots.
IDK about makeup cause it's going to be difficult to keep your hand from touching your dress and getting make up on it.

i had surgery on my hand in april 2009 and am having surgery on my other hand in 2 weeks. i spoke to many doctors about the scar (dermatologists, general practice, my hand surgeon and even my gyn) and was told to use vitamin E and coco butter.
honestly though it didnt work too well for my left hand...i had 13 stitches and i think it is noticeable. However i passed on this info to FH after he had ankle surgery and the scar is practically gone. i think it depends on skin color/type and where it is located on your body. seems the hand scars worse then the leg for some reason. ive given up trying to hide mine...your best bet may be makeup or having the photographer 'touch up' the pictures.

Only thing that will lighten it is time..or you can have minor plastic surgery for it..doubt you want to do that though. I have 2 nasty scars from when I was a kid that I should have gotten stiches for but didn't. It took about 5-10 years for it to lighten to where it is the color of my skin, still noticable though. I've tried mederma, coco butter and some other type of oil on a newer scar I had and I didn't see any difference. The color just eventually faded from red to the color or my skin. I used to use makeup on my scar for years to cover it up.
