NWR - Scheduling, timing, appointments... RANT!

So, this is only partially not wedding related. Since, this one aspect of my life is interfering with EVERYTHING including wedding planning.

FH and I have a 6 year old daughter. She's, obviously, the center of everything. So, when she wanted to sign up for cheerleading in the summer I was like, ABSOLUTELY! When they needed volunteers to be team mom, I wasn't totally excited about it (because I work full time and there were PLENTY of stay at home moms on the team who couldn't be bothered) but I thought, my mom never did anything like that and I know my girl would love it, so I did. (I will admit, I had NO idea what I was getting myself into).

Not to be dramatic but, cheerleading is ruining my life, lol. Some of the parents I have to deal with are just the most horrible people. Some don't understand that this is a TEAM sport so they can't just pick and choose which events they want to attend, they have to be there for ALL of them. And some are just a-holes.

Since August I have LITERALLY done nothing except devote my life to this team. Practice three nights a week, games and/or competition on the weekends. This is why I haven't really started wedding planning, I have NO TIME. I'm glad I did it, and I wouldn't trade the experience, especially for my daughter, but the league we're in is so unorganized, last minute everything, no communication, irresponsible coaches, etc. It's the biggest source of stress in my life.

I decided to make some appointments this week, so all of my vendors aren't booked up for my date. I made a photo appt for Tuesday forgetting that there's no school on Monday so there would be no practice. Practice was rescheduled for Tuesday, so now I have to reschedule the photo appt. The biggest disappointment was I made an appointment at Kleinfelds MONTHS ago, and found out last week they scheduled our last competition for the same day. I was so excited for that appt. and now I don't know when all of my BM schedules will come together again.

Thanks for listening, I know it sounds like I'm whining, I should have known what was involved in this sport before joining. But, live and learn.

that really stinks, I'm sorry.. when is the cheerleading season over for the girls? Hopefully around the holidays you will have more free time to make some appointments. Christmas break would be a good time!

I can relate to some degree. My daughter is in her dance school's dance company and her first competition is the weekend of our wedding!!! She has been working SO hard and looking forward to competitions and of course it would happen that the very first one falls on such an important time in our lives! Luckily, as it turns out one of her teachers said that the first day of competition is usually for solos and since my daughter doesn't have one that it isn't a huge deal if she misses the first day, BUT she has to be there for Saturday and Sunday so basically I will have to get married and travel the next day to make sure she makes it to compete! It's an inconvenience, but we committed to this so it has to get done. It's part of being a parent! I can't say that her dancing has taken over my wedding planning or anything so as far as that is concerned we are okay, but I can totally relate to the position that you're in.

Maybe you can step down from being a team mom until after the wedding?

Luckily the season is almost over. But, since I'm getting married around this time next year, I'll need to decide whether or not to enroll her next year. They expect that the same team moms will be the team moms again. And I'm fine with that, but not if I'm planning a wedding also. That's waaayyy too much stress. This was also our first year, so I had no idea what to expect. Next year I think I'll have a better idea of what's going on and how things run. Oh, the things we do for our kids! LOL!!
