NWR- SO SCARED...HAVE TO GO FOR AN ENG TONIGHT

I was supposed to have it done. I had vertigo a few months ago. I could not walk to the bathroom without help. But i chickened out last minute. I wish I had gone though. A friend had it done and said it's not bad. You will be fine. Don't worry!!

never had sorry ... had an EKG test...also had an MRI ....here ya go funny store - maybe i can make u laugh....

i went for this MRI (for kidney infection) and they had to inject me with a dye that the monitor would read .... well so im lying on the table and they tell me that when the dye goes through me i might have a warm feeling in my neck and chest and not to worry...its nomal etc etc. ... so after they inject me with this dye ... i had the warm feeling - but it was in between my legs!!! i thought i peed myself all over the table. but i wasnt allowed to move... so i kept saying ' um ...i think i peed myself can i check?' and i still couldnt move. well at the end i found out that i didnt pee myself.

dont know where the point of that story was ....but dont worry!!!!!

I have been getting dizzy spells lately and my doctor wants me to go for an ENG test tonight. I think it's a balance test for the inner ear. He said that it will make me dizzy and sick to my stomach. IMO, those are the worst feelings you can have. I'm so afraid to go. Has anyone ever had this test? Is it as bad as I fear?

basically they are going to blow warm air into your ear, which will make you feel dizzy. you probably will have to go through some other things to rule out cerebellar problems... im guessing that your doctor things there might be a problem with your vestibular system which contributes to balance... (please don't quote me on this! but i'm the speech-pathology field, and some audiology is part of our training/education)... my mom actually had to go through this recently, and it did make her VERY dizzy... to the point where she could not continue the test. it's definitely not going to be fun, but it's important to know the source of your dizziness, because if it's not an inner ear problem, it could be a symptom of something more serious.

ive had it done when i got vertigo. its not that bad. you get dizzy, but they tell you to stare at one spot at the dizziness goes away...and its only for a short time.

my stepmother had this test last year. I think they put you in a swing and hang you upside down until you get dizzy and throw up.
But, she said its not as bad as it sounds!
And, if it helps them get to the bottom of your dizzy spells, it is worth it.
I recommend playing it up with FH so that you can get a nice sick present
