i got this in my inbox - and it makes me so angry that people could be so cruel. if anyone wants to help out (or can help out) - i already have 2 dogs of my own - i wish i could but i can't......
here is the email...it is from a friend of mine - i trust that everything is true.
This two year old pup needs a home. Listen to how they found him....In Brooklyn they found him hanging upside down with a rope around his penis. He is scared to death, the poor thing. Very sweet. Hope you can help. He had an operation on his penis due to the pulling. It was almost ripped off. He is fine now. He just needs to get out of that dirty shelter before they put him down.
Please send this to everyone you know, This little guy has been thru enough and we really wanna find him a nice home....I wish I had to room for him....bc I cant resist that face!

Awww he looks so sad - I started to cry when I saw his picture. I wish I could take him but me and FH aren't in our own place yet. He deserves tons of love and attention

There are some really cold hearted people in this world. That is HORRIBLE. Just makes me sick to my stomach to know that anyone would be so cruel as to do something like that.

I agree with you 1000%. Whoever did that to that dog should be murdered. I HATE animal abusers. I'd rather see a person dead than an animal. Makes me SICK. I would KILL someone if they did that to my dog. I would seriously be in prison because I would kill them and I would love to get my hands on the piece of $hit who did that to that poor dog. Okay, I'm crying now.

I asked my landlord, and they can't handle anymore pets right now.
However, maybe you can bring him to Bide-A-Wee. There's locations in Wantagh, Westhampton and Manhattan. I know for a fact that they will keep all of the animals until they are adopted. I used to work there, and they treat their animals humanely and have an on premises clinic.
We adopted my Frisky from the Wantagh location, and I was told she was there for 2 years before we adopted her. So that shows you they never put an animal to sleep unless they are terminally ill.

That a pit bull or a pit mix. I would take him to a no-kill shelter and have them temperment test him...especially if he was abused. It's completely disgusting that someone would do that to an animal! I would definitely have his temperment tested before taking him in though. Unfortunately even the sweetest dogs can have a bad reaction when they have been abused and someone makes the wrong move. If a pit has that type of reaction, it can be pretty severe because they are so strong. A lot of the no-kill shelters will test to see if the dog is adoptable.
ETA: He is very adorable. looks so much like my fbil's pit bull, but his is black and white

I feel the same way - I have no understanding for anyone that could hurt an animal.

I sent this e-mail to the NYC ASPCA so I am hoping they may be able to help. I feel terrible. If I didn't already have 2 dogs and a cat I would probably take him in.
