NWR: stolen credit card info

So I really just need to vent or I'm gonna kill random person while walking down the street!! lol I'm so frustrated! So around the end of July or so, I noticed some funky charges on my credit card that were not from me. So my bank adjusted those charges and gave me a new credit card. I just noticed another charge thats not from me! This time it was from a company that I've actually heard of. I called them and explained the situation to them. They said they had no record of my card #. Gave them my old card # and they had that one! So they put a hold on the number so it cant be charged again and they're gonna put in a dispute to try and get those charges taken away. But I dont understand. If that was being done on my old card number, when my bank gave me a new one, how can they do that?! the old card is non-existant now! i dont understand. so mad. ughhhhh.

Ugh!!! So sorry! Hope the charges go away... usually they're pretty good with those things. That's weird though. Did you activate the new card ever?

I did activate the new card! So thats why I'm so confused. When whoever got the info tried to use the old card number, shouldn't it have been declined because its invalid? I'm still waiting to hear what happens...so stressful.

Make sure you order a copy of your credit report to make sure there weren't other fraudulent charges.

make sure the bank who issued the cars is aware of this and not just the company. They should be responsible.
