Since we've moved, I still can't find 'our supermarket' (I know it's sad that I'm looking for one lol), but we used to live by a Shop Rite and I loved it. So far I've checked out the following in our new area and have yet to be happy:
1. Trader Joe's: Good for certain things but there's no way I can buy everything I need there, and also it's too expensive
2. Walbaums: Not impressed at all, minus a few things on sale
3. Key Foods: Good for last minute stuff, too expensive for bigger shopping, and not impressed with their general stuff that they carry
I'm going to try Stop & Shop tonight. Anyone have any thoughts on it?
The more I write about this, the more I realize how sad this post is

Re: NWR: Stop & Shop
omg, you sound just like me. FH and i visited all the supermarkets around us when we moved in, trying to find 'our' store. you get a feeling when you find 'the one'
we mainly shop and stop and shop and we love it- they always have (almost) everything in stock, the quality is good, and they have a lot of organic options. we usually take a trip to trader joes once or twice a month for specialty stuff too.
fruit is usually pretty good at stop and shop - i've only had a few problems here and there in the 3 years i've been shopping there.

Not a fan of Pathmark, feels a bit too expensive and I don't like their set up. I'm weird, I know lol.

Re: NWR: Stop & Shop
im a fan of pathmark and now target (the one by me just started selling food and stuff over the summer). i find the prices are great at both of these stores and the sales at pathmark are typically better then other stores.

Re: NWR: Stop & Shop
I'm in LOVE with Stop & Shop the one near me has the scan as you go so I don't have to stand on line forever . And they send you a text message when your deli order is ready! I go over there for any little thing even though its not the closest store to me.

i love shop rite!!! but there are none around me either :( where did you move to?
I like pathmark, they tend to have the best sales and cheapest prices. I used to be a stop and shop fan but i realized most of the other places have better sales

Re: NWR: Stop & Shop
FH and I go out of our way to drive to the stop and shop instead of the shoprite that is down the street. I love it and it's so clean and big.
You can get a lot of deals there too (buy one, get one free chicken breasts, what what!).
We go to trader Joes and whole foods for stuff we can't find at regular stores but stop and shop really carries good substitutes for most things

This. I think Pathmark has the best prices and the most sales
