NWR: Stressed...please help me feel better with 2nd update

Maybe it's my lack of confidence, or maybe it's just my nerves kicking in. I have an interview tomorrow morning at 11:30 am for what is my dream teaching job at the school district i love subbing in! It is only a 12 minute interview and based on a talk i had with someone i cant mention, there is a good chance it's mine (story is too long). I know i work super hard and give everything i do 100% i just know i get nervous and dont express myself very well in interviews. Now here comes my lack of confidence. I'm so sure im going to let myself and everyone pulling for me down by screwing up in the interview and not getting the job. I just wish i could go with a positive attitude....please help. and pray.

UPDATE: Just got back from the interview and it went better than i could have expected!!! If i don't get the job i won't be disappointed because i now know i did everything i could and i couldnt have answered the questions any better than i did so if i don't get the job it is because i have less experience than someone else and there is nothing i could do about that at this point.

UPDATE #2: I HAVE A 2nd INTERVIEW ON TUESDAY!!!! O M G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im a cross of all of these emotions right now...

Aww, just try not to think about it, and make sure to just talk yourself up as much as possible!!! Even if its just saying how hard you work and how you put in the 100% like you said. They want to here how good you are!!! Just try not to think of it. What district is it in?? You don't have to post that if you don't want to.

Think of it this way: they already know you and they already like you. You don't have to worry about making a good first impression, so you have a leg up on everyone else. It's okay to be a little nervous on an interview, everyone is. But remember - you know what you're doing there, you know they already like you, and you know it's only 12 minutes long. You can do it!

Maybe have a friend or FH give you a 'mock interview' tonight so you can practice some answers. That's what I did before my teaching interview, and it really helped.

You can do it! Just remember how perfect it is for you, and focus on those little elements of your experiences that will wow them!!! You know what you've done that's great, sell it!!!! good luck to you!!!!!

thank you all so much!! It's a leave replacement til the end of the year and for all of next year but there are two perm positions opening in the same school and subject area and i am eligible for those too but this leave will give me a leg up on that competition. I'm thinking in 12 minutes they really cant ask too many teaching questions i think it will be more of a get to know you type of interview. So i'm hoping!

Good luck, just be confident. You got the interview and that is more than 1/2 the battle!

Lin if you think like that it will end up bad. Think positively, you're one of the smartest girls I know and you didn't get this far on your beautiful looks (although it does help )
Go in there and give the old patented Linda 100% & I'm sure you'll knock the socks off of em!!!!

You are going to be great!!! It's a little bit scary but have you tried visualizing yourself acing the interview and getting the job. You're going to get the job!!!

Thank you all!! I'll update tomorrow after the interview and I'll update you as soon as i know anything....although the latest i can find out is March 10th but the woman who told me it looks good told me the guy said he may tell me tomorrow! So im hoping! Thanks ladies!

INteriews are always daunting. i can't even begin to imagine a 12 min interview. You'll rock it though...just remember that they are lucky to have you applying

One thing I always do is try to anticipate the questions I will be asked and prepare answers for them. And if they don't ask questions like 'Why will you be an asset to this school' answer it anyhow! i.e 'I feel that my specific talent for X and my experience in Y will assist me in being Z.'

You'll do great, take a deep breath & relax.... alot of people forget that when you are interviewing- the person goes in WANTING to hire you and they want to impress you just as much because they need that spot filled. So remember that and you will be fine.
