NWR: Student Loans???

I have to start paying back my student loans soon and I was wondering if anyone has consolidated their loans? How do you go about doing this? I get sooo many things in the mail from these weird places and I dunno where I should go to consolidate them.

i consolidated my student loans through the bank i borrowed the money from... i get all that crap in the mail too but always throw it out b/c i dont trust any of them... where did you borrow the money from?? i borrowed from citibank... i love them!! i pay $211 a month for 10 years

i consolidated my loans through citibank - that is where i borrowed from. I suggest you consolidate from whatever bank you borrowed from.

I went thru my college, and I used Salli-Mae (however you spell it). Can I just go to a bank and do it or do I have to go thru them? This loan crap always gives me a headache whenever I have to deal with it

I'm pretty sure you can just consolidate with Sallie Mae.... Here's some info.... LINK

I consolidated with Sallie Mae and it was really not as bad as you would think. It's still annoying to do, but you'll be much happier paying only one payment!

To be honest most consolidation companies are the same. They pretty much offer the same drop in percentage rate if you make 3 years on on time payments, etc.
But be careful if you consolidate, b/c although payments will be lower you end up paying more and paying longer. I made this mistake with one of my loans and I'm still paying it off.

i consolidated through sallie mae while i was in school since the interest rates kept going up. you can just give them a call and someone will walk you through it.

I consolidated though Sallie-Mae, which was painless. You can also do it through the bank.

I wouldn't use the random things you get in the mail. I used Sallie Mae and got a fixed 3% which will go down after a year's payments 1% if all bills are paid on time. Good luck

I just bought my mega millions ticket so I can try to pay off my loans at once instead of paying them back for 10 years

Same here.

I think I just filled out a form online and that was it.

I STILL get the junk mail even though I consolidated and have been paying the loans back for a year!
