So FH is turning 30 next year and although I know I have so much time to plan, I'd like to get some ideas on where to throw him a surprise birthday party. Any suggestions as to where? I'd like to do dinner and have a DJ so that we can have some entertainment. And I'm thinking of no more than 50 people. Queens or Nassau areas preferably. TIA!

Re: NWR: Surprise bday party
Waterzooi is my FAVORITE restaurant it's fantastic and different. It is a Belgium bistro they have over 200 beers and different wines from the region. The food is wonderful!! The decor is very modern I think it would be the perfect place. I will attach the link. Click on' events' Mondays they have a 3 course beer parring menu, and Tuesdays they have a 3 course wine parring menu, both are $35 pp which is an excellent price. It would be a wonderful atmosphere for a b-day party. And on a Monday or Tuesday it won't be too packed. When you are on the site check out the menus!!!!HTH

Re: NWR: Surprise bday party
I threw FH a 30th last year.... I just rented a VFW (very inexpensive) and then I hired a dj/mc, and a caterer. I went out and bought all the decorations myself and FMIL and myself decorated the whole place. I went back and forth about having it in a restaurant but it saved me soooooo much money to do it this way AND everyone raved about how much fun they had. FM if you need any help.
I went to an engagement party at Peppercorns in Hicksville a few years ago. It was on the 2nd floor in a private room and there were about 50-60 people there and they had a DJ. I would check them out for pricing.
