NWR: Tax Question

I already filed my Federal Return - refund granted.

I worked partially in CT for the year, and NYC for the rest of the year.

I already filed my CT Return - payment sent, but I also owe NY. I have the forms ready, but I really can't afford to shell out what I owe...I've heard of the extension, but it seems like it's only for the form, b/c you have to submit payment.

Are there any options?

do you think you could use the refund from the federal to pay the NY state? I suggest doing that if you can, and waiting as long as you can, but not past April 15, to send it in.

There is no extenstion for payment, just for filing the return. If you don't pay on time you will get hit with interest and penalties, so try to avoid that.
