NWR: Teachers (certification)

I need to get my fingerprinitng done before I student teach next semester and I have no clue where to get it done. Of course Dowling is sooooooo helpful with these things (NOT)

Can they do it for you at the police precinct? Do you need a special form to fill out?

Also, tests (yay). I already took the CST and the ATS-W but I need to take the CST. What is the website to sign up for them?

i believe the website to register for the CST is the same one you use for the LAST and ATS-W. as far as fingerprinting, find out if they do it at the district where you're going to student teach--that's what i did. otherwise, check with BOCES bc they offer a lot of services like that, and if they don't do it, they'll tell you who will.

i know they do it at the riverhead precent for FREE...otherwise u have to pay like 50 bucks

Dont know if you're in LI or one of the boroughs... I live in Queens and had it done at a precinct for like $12. You need to call ahead though and ask when the fingerprinting officer is available and you need to find out exactly how much it costs because you can only pay by money order. Good luck!

I got fingerprinted at the local precinct. Then you just send it in to the department of education.

If you teach in nyc, I think you have to get it done at the dept. of education on Court Street in Brooklyn.

OK I got my fingerprinting done at the scope offices in smithtown I will look for the phone number because you have to make an apt. And the test website is http://www.nystce.nesinc.com/

ok yeah I dont have the number for scope anymore but im pretty sure thats where I got my fingerprinting done, all I had to do was fill out a paper and a card that they give you and then they send all of the fingerprints and information to the education dept. Try calling 411 to get the number for scope ( its in smithtown) and talk to someone there im sure they will be able to help you.
