NWR- Teachers I have a question

Hopfully someone can help me with this. I sent out an application for an 'anticipated' teaching assistant vacany. Today I receive an automated kinda post card which says, ' If you are applying for a teaching or administration position, please contact your university placement office or career center and have transcripts and placement file forwarded to us as soon as possible'
Here is my question...

I understand the transcript part...but dont really know why they need that. But what is a placement file? How do I got about getting these two things taken care of?>

Thanks girls!

I have never heard of that. Where did you apply to?

I have never heard of that. Even the transcript part is kind of odd. Is it a public school?

Yes, public school. I applied to the district actually.

Some colleges keep a placement folder on you with recommendations, etc. This way all of your stuff is in one place and you can have your entire file sent over. If you college has a placement office and you worked with them, that is where it would be.

Can I ask what type of position you applied for?

Elementary, chemistry, special ed, etc?

It does get costly and timely to send over all your transcripts, etc. I would suggest getting yourself a copy of your transcript and sending 'copies' not originals unless you think it is a real position open.

Many times when they say possible position, they are gathering resumes to keep in a file.

If you FM what district, etc. I might be able to help you more. I have been teaching in a LI district for 16 years and have been part of the hiring committee many times.

In addition to this, I know when I was just finishing Grad school and passed all the tests, etc. and was waiting for my actually certificate in the mail, my school would send over my transcript and file to show that I actually did everything.
