NWR- Teachers I have a question

Hopfully someone can help me with this. I sent out an application for an 'anticipated' teaching assistant vacany. Today I receive an automated kinda post card which says, ' If you are applying for a teaching or administration position, please contact your university placement office or career center and have transcripts and placement file forwarded to us as soon as possible'
Here is my question...

I understand the transcript part...but dont really know why they need that. But what is a placement file? How do I got about getting these two things taken care of?>

Thanks girls!

Not sure, but i think it's only for TEACHERS, not TAs. Your transcript is your grades, obviously and a placement file would contain things like your New York State Teaching Exam scores, teaching evaluations by professors and cooperating teachers done during student teaching, etc. ETA: they want this to see how people did in education courses and what evals. on teaching that's already been completed.

I would call and ask what they need for a TA position, because NYS does not require that TAs have a degree in education or state teaching certification. many districts end up hiring teachers as TAs, but i don't think this is your case?

Does this help? is this job a board of ed. school or a suburban district?

The Board of Ed. is just the five boroughs of NYC. if it's not in the city, it's a suburban school district and most suburban school districts only serve their town or general area.

It depends on the capacity of the TA what the requirements would be. In my district we have TAs who are co-teachers in integrated cot-teaching classes so that may be why they are looking for more than the 'normal' things. Our TAs teach, assess and are just as much teachers as the regular teachers.
