I don't teach those grades but there are soo many resources on the internet. Try: teachnolgy.com lessonplanspage.com sitesforteachers.com just to name a few.

Re: NWR: Teachers I need your help!
you have to include a lesson with the rods and cubes for place value... makes it really hands on for them.
i also did a lesson on this with upper grades, (because we were getting into ten thousands, hundred thousands, millions).... make a big poster for each period (i.e., ones, tens, hundreds). make a smaller poster with the digits 1-10 on them (you may want to double up on some of the digits). give the kids a number (i.e. 319). one kid should grab the 3 and stand under the hundreds poster, one grabs the 1 and stands under the tens poster and the other grabs the 9 and stands under the ones poster. hope this makes sense.... they love it and it's fun watching them move around and see how fast they can do it. it also helps you see their understanding of place value... a lot of kids will sit there with the 3 in the ones place, for example.
hope this helps... i'm an upper elem. person!

I think you can also try NCTM.com or National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. They have some pretty good resources on there for math as well. It aligns directly with NYS standards. I hope this helps!!

You can use money, and teach the place values with that.
For trips you can go to a supermarket and look at the prices and have them buy something.
There are also poems and story books to read on that too.
