NWR: Teachers need your advice!! ( or trying to find a job)
So there are NOO teaching jobs in CT and its very hard to get one. So i went for two interviews today, one is for a tutor position that is only about 30 hours a week and no benefits and only pays $25 an hour, and I went for a Paralegal job that I got offered a lot more than I would get if I were to teach plus full medical benefits, 2 weeks paid vacation. I dont know what to do. I have a LOT of bills and I feel like I cant wait around forever. What would you do???

I'm not a teacher, but money talks! You could take the paralegal job for now and keep your feelers out for when a teaching position opens up..

I'm a teacher, go for the paralegal job, more $ can;t beat that. Even though the tutoring jobs is in a related field I don't think it'll sway an interview panel as to whether or not you have teaching experience

I am a teacher, but I would need a little more information to give you definite advice.
My feeling is if you can afford it, take the tutoring job. Tutoring gives you more experience with the topic that you are teaching. I think that it will sound better too when you go on an interview. It is hard to get a teaching job, so if you continue to stay in the field, i think that it will look better for you. Also, you never know who you will meet and it is important to have contacts.
Also, you can say in an interview, you were offered more money in a different profession, but you love kids and your subject so much that you decided to tutor instead
What subject do you teach? Do you have your heart on being a teacher?
