NWR --- Teachers please read

My school has decided we should start doing curriculum maps

Do any of you do this?

If so can you send me something to look at so I know how to start this

I will love you forever if you can help me out

Thanks a ton

I so feel like a first year teacher this year and not like a 9 year vet LOL

There are a million different formats. I would make sure there isn't a format that your school is choosing before you get started.

We don't have one ... Each grade needs to create one month and then we are going to decide which grades model will be used school wide

Are you a secondary or elementary? It varies. I teach High school so It may be a lot different depending on what you teach

I am elementary ... I keep saying I feel like a first year teacher .... I am google-ing things and trying to find something to tweak instead of reinventing the wheel

If you google common core state standards..they have unit plans for curriculum maps based on the new standards...my school began using them this year as a guide and then we made out day by day plan ..I teach fourth grade if u need more info

we did it for like a minute and then they just stopped asking for it and everyone stopped doing it lol

I wish I could do that but as a business teacher we don't have any combo core standards--no one seems to understand that!

I have a lot of curriculum maps from previous years...I think i have a few 1st and 5th and I was on the curriculum committee for 2nd grade. I think the big problem is that a lot of times the maps are created from the units that the schools already teach and they need to reallymake sure they address all of the common core standards by the end of the year. This is definitely something I noticed and I wanted to mention to my principal.

Also, sign up for curriculum 21- its free. they have a lot of resources and I believe its modeled after heidi jacobson's curriculum maps (i think thats her name) who is def the curriculum map guru, esp. in nyc.

If you want to see any of mine you can FM i havent been on LIW much these days to check posts. good luck
