NWR: Teachers (RP from 06)

Hey girls,

Well unfortunately we are faced w/ the unpleasant knowledge that we are going back to school

Anyhow, I have been teaching for 7 yrs and Im tired of my same old 'opening day' routine. I was wondering if anyone had any fun and cute get-to-know-you activities.

Just some background, I teach 6th grade SS and I teach 40 min periods so it cant be anything long.

THANKS

i have a workbook that has those games like you put the kids in groups and they have a list of supplies and they have to rate them in order of importence if they were stranded on a desert, a moutain in the snow etc and they seem to like it. I have done it with 7th, and 10th graders

Last year I made a 10 question true or false quiz up about myself, and made all of the answers true (although a few of them the kids would have never guessed to be true!). After all the kids completed it and I told them the correct answers, I had them make up a 10 question true or false quiz about themselves. They love it and you get to learn a little about them too!
