NWR -- Tears at Work

So, I had a mid-year evaluation today. It was mostly positive, but also included a bit of constructive criticism. While I know that my supervisor had the best intentions and only wants me to improve, I couldn't help stopping at the ladies room to let a few tears fall down my cheeks. Of course, this evaluation will only help me, but constructive criticism is still kind of hard to swallow. You know?

Look at it as words to help you grow. Cheer up.

You have to think of it this way: if they didn't like you, then they wouldnt care to give you constructive criticism. They only want to see you improve and possibly advance.

Very true!! I know they only want me to improve. This whole thing would be so much easier if I were a guy. Us girls take everything personally!!

I have the same issue and take things personally...even when I ask for constructive criticism. It's hard to hear from someone else what our faults are. But like the other girls said...if they didn't want you to improve and grow with the company, they wouldn't bother giving you the criticisms. I'm sure you did great btw!

Focus on the positive stuff your boss said!!!!

Sounds like it was mostly positive. I know it hurts to hear criticism but just look at it like a challenge to overcome for next year.

I'm sure they just had to throw some negative stuff in just because....
