Ok here is a brief overview of the situation.. I am beginning a new job on Feb. 5 with the board of ed. working as a speech teacher (but with a sub. license)..got the job thrugh my FSIL..she connected me with the supervisor of speech (region 1)..and here I am. OK here is the situation..
She doesnt know that I will be leaving the job in June (when the school year ends) she thinks I will be a reg. worker. See, i am getting married in July and moving upstate (1 1/2hrs away)..so I am doing this in the mean time. ( I did graduate with my BA in speech..no MA yet), but once I get married I will be moving and looking for a job upstate. I feel bad that I will only be working for 5mths before I have to quit. This lady has done a lot to get me this job..and I am very grateful..but I cant stay. I guess this post is more of a 'getting off my chest' kinda post. Since I know that I am not going to be staying...and she doesnt..I just feel bad. I mean, I really dont want to leave. I am sure Im going to love the job..but I am starting a new life with my FH upstate...what do you girls think?

You said she is FSIL? Maybe she has already put it together that you are moving upstate with FH and it doesn't matter to her? Does she know that is where he lives?

i think you have to do what is best for you. im sure she knows how grateful and she will understand, especially since you are a newlywed, that things change. Good luck with your new job!

I think if I were you....especially because FSIL helped you get the job....I would be honest with the lady....and explain your situation. OR.....does your FSIL know that you will be quitting in 5 months...if she is ok with it, then I wouldn't worry about it!

No FSIL words for the board of ed (for about 10yrs already)..she put in the word for me that I graduated recently and that I am looking for a job...so that is when she introduced me to the supervisor of the speech dept. I feel bad leaving the supervisor because she is soo nice. But..I guess like the other poster said, I have to do whats best for me

Yes FSIL knows that I will only be working there shortly, but the supervisor doesnt. I mean this is how I see it also...I am going to be working with just a sub license..doing something that subs dont do...I am not getting paid what I am suppose to be getting paid..no benefits..no paid vacations/holidays...but then again, I am doing it mostly for experience.

Oh I thought you thought your FSIL might be upset if you left. In that case, I agree with what Jenn said -- Do what's best for you.
