Whose going to see it this weekend? Has anyone read the book? I want to see the movie and read it afterwards ( I know I'm doing it backwards).

Definitely read the book FIRST!!!! there is so much information in the book that I am sure the movie will not get into....
Looking forward to the movie though... although I always feel the book is always better!

I'd definitely agree that you should read the book first. I'm pretty sure the movie won't go into detail like that, it will probably just be all about the action and whatever, as movies always are.
I want to see it... don't know if I'll get there this weekend, but hopefully soon. I liked the book, and found the theory fascinating, so I'd like to see the movie. Although, I must say, Tom Hanks is not at all what I envisioned for the role... so we'll see.

There were shows on cable discussing The Davinci Code and whether its possible Jesus married and had off-spring. I love shows like this, usually leads to heated discussions. But I love hearing other people's opinions on this subject.

Re: NWR: The Davinci Code
I just finished the book, I read it very quickly to be done before the movie came out.
I know you are going to chop my head off, but I really didnt like it much. Nothing to do with the religious aspect, it was just really predictable. Angels and Demons was sooo much better.
This one just got kinda cheesy at the end.

Mention of the title in my house is forbidden. My folks think is heretical. I haven't read the book, but I am curious, maybe once i move out of the house.
donegal419: I can think of an example where the movie was so much better than the book: Narnia.

Actually, I think you're right there! NArnia was AWESOME! I read it in class with my kids and then we went to see it at the movies. the special effects were great! Liam Neeson made a great Aslan.

Re: NWR: The Davinci Code
Already bought my tickets online for tonight!! My fiance and I have been dying for this movie to be released. I read the book in 1 day!!! I woke up around 9, went on my porch, and read until about 10 that night. I couldn't put it down. It was amazing. I love Tom Hanks but I definitely don't think he was the best pick for this role. I doubt the movie will be as good as the book but no bad review is going to stop me from seeing it!!!
